Fructose is not recommended as a health food, but a few percent added as an ingredient to an anti oxidant and flavonoid product should be safe. Fructose has been shown to increase cholesterol levels. Fructose consumption in the US is about 25kg a year, which is far too much. It is probably just as high in Asutralia. Maltodextrin and fructose together have been shown to increase available energy levels for cyclists during a 150 minute competition.
