Xylicare Toothpaste with Strong Peppermint flavour is made from Xylitol, a natural substance from the birch tree. Xylitol fights acid-producing bacteria which cause tooth decay and gum disease. Xylitol is a sweetener used in many oral hygiene products, including toothpaste. It is a natural sugar substitute, that is a nonfermentable sugar alcohol.
Xylitol prevents cavities by starving bacteria, remineralising tooth enamal, reducing plaque, and increasing the flow of saliva in the mouth.
