Morlife Beetroot Powder owes it's colour to betanin which is made of two L Dopa molecules (the neurotransmitter dompamine foud in the brain). Beetroot has been shown to elevate mood by increasing serotonin levels in the brain.
The neutotransmitter dopamine which is required for normal mental function has in fact been reported by scientists in "extremely high concentrations" in beetroot.
The amino acid phenylalanine can be produced from tyrosine, which in turn is a precursor to melatonin, the sleep hormone, serotonin the awake hormone, dopamine for mental alertness, T3 and T4 the thyroid hormones and adrenaline and noradrenaline.
At a guess therefore beetroot could affect mood, mental health, metabolism, quality of sleep and mental alertness. A general survey of the literature supports this, also because beetroot is high in carbohydrates, when taken at night is more likely to sway the amino acid balance in favour of sleep.
In addition beetroot is a good source of iodine, and so that woud enhance it's value in promoting thyroid health, and a healthy metabolism and energy levels.
