PULSATILLA. Anemone pulsatilla. N.O. Ranunculaceae.
Synonym : Easter Flower, Meadow Anemone, Pasque Flower, Passe Flower, Wind Flower.
Habitat : High pastures.
Features : Stalk up to six inches high. Leaves hairy, three to five inches long by two to three inches broad, bipinnate, leaflets opposite, stalked below. Flowers (April and May) large, single, six dull violet petals. Taste pungent when fresh.
Part used : Herb.
Action : Nervine, antispasmodic, alterative.
Nervous exhaustion in women, particularly when suiting from menstrual causes. Has a stimulating action on all mucous surfaces. Dose, 1-2 tablespoonfuls of the half ounce to 1 pint infusion.
