FUMITORY. Fumaria officinalis. N.O. Fumariaceae.
Synonym : Earth Smoke.
Habitat : Roadsides, fields, gardens.
Features : Stem weak, brittle, sometimes erect, sometimes trailing, six to twelve inches long. Leaves alternate, twice pinnate, bluish-green. Flowers (May to November) reddish-rose, several on stalk.
Part used : Herb.
Action : Slightly tonic, diuretic, aperient.
For stomach and liver disorders and minor skin blemishes. Infusion of 1 ounce to 1 pint may be taken freely.
